School Admission Arrangements 2025 - 2026 Consultation

Bridge Academy Trust is the admission authority for Notley High School and Braintree Sixth Form.

The admission authority is consulting on the proposed admission arrangements for 2025-2026 in accordance with paragraph 1.45 of the School Admissions Code (September 2021). 

Notley High School and Braintree Sixth Form

Bridge Academy Trust along with Notley High School and Braintree Sixth Form along are proposing to reduce the PAN from 250 to 217 with effect from September 2025.  There will be no change for pupils currently at Notley High School and Braintree Sixth Form. 

Due to a reduction in admission numbers over the last few years, there is a need to reduce the PAN.  The reduction to 217 will ensure the school will continue to meet the requirements for admissions but will also allow the school to provide stability in its long-term planning of the curriculum. 

Bridge Academy Trust along with Notley High School and Braintree Sixth form along feel that the temporary reduction in PAN will not detrimentally impact parents’ choice of school. 

Reference to exceptional medical circumstances is also being proposed to be removed.

Consultation Process 

The consultation process is open from Tuesday 19 December 2023 to Tuesday 30 January 2024.

If you wish to comment on the proposals, you must submit your response in writing during this period. Details of how to submit your views are set out below (see “How to respond to the Consultation”).

Following the consultation, the admission authority will consider any comments received and determine how to proceed. 

The admission authority will determine the final admission arrangements for the school by 28th February 2024.  The Admission Arrangements will be published on the Academy’s website by 15th March 2024.
